Robert Bryan Solon of Lakewood passed away the afternoon of March 30, 2024, peacefully surrounded by his family that loved him very much.
Robert, who preferred to go by Bob, was born December 31, 1951, in Cleveland. Bob was a loving father, brother, and the type of person that anyone could call a friend. He would be there for anyone without asking anything in return. Bob was a very kindhearted carefree man who loved to joke with everyone. He loved his family very much and he loved nothing more than spending time with them.
Anyone that knew Bob knew he loved his golf. Bob was an avid golf player who always had a goal to get a round of golf every month of the year and always looked forward to his yearly golf trips. Bob also loved watching baseball and going to baseball games. Bob has a cat he loved named Mickey Dee that he referred to as his little buddy. The two of them loved watching tv together and Mickey would chase around the golf balls putt around the house. Lastly, Bob loved music and going to concerts with his dear friend Katherine.
Bob was a United States Veteran who served the US Air Forces as a firefighter, and he worked for a contractor at NASA Glenn Research Center until he passed.
Bob strived to give back to the community. Bob delivered meals for St. Augustine every holiday, he donated blood to the Red Cross as frequently as possible, and as recently as fall of 2023 he started volunteering at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank which gave him so much joy. Bob had expressed plans that he wanted to volunteer more with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank once he retired.
Bob is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Melissa Solon Thompson (Brian Thompson), stepdaughter and son-in-law Renee Seese (Dante Periandri), stepdaughter Heather Seese, step grandfather to Jamie Treetock and Tasha Periandri, brother and sisters-in-laws Dale (Eleanor) Solon, Kevin (Trish) Solon, Patrick (Rebecca) Solon, sister and brother-in- laws Sue (Juan) Hernandez, Beverly Ann (Robert) Moorman, and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marianne Miller Solon, and his parents Robert E. Solon and Dorothy Ann Solon.
Friends and Family of Bob will be honoring him with a celebration of life on May 11th from 1-5 p.m. at Fat Head's Brewery at 17450 Engle Road Middleburg Heights.
